Project: Creation of a brand-new kitchen in a space that was once the sitting room within a Listed 17th Century cottage.

Kitchen budget: £12K

Style: Rustic vintage/cottage core

Colour scheme: Sky blue, bright white, with hand-made solid wood worktops and wood painted cabinetry with delightful blue and pink vintage accessories.

De’Longhi Range Cooker: D3VR 908 DF WH, Vintage style, double cavity, white, dual fuel (gas hob and electric multifunction oven plus grill), 90cm wide.

The challenge
Given we live in a really old cottage then it was important that any changes we made must be sympathetic to the history of the house and traditional in style without compromising on function.

We knew a vintage-style range cooker would work well aesthetically as they originally hail from farmhouse settings but as we were working to a particularly delicate colour palette, we weren’t sure we’d find something that would combine form with function. We were also looking for a gas hob with a wok burner. After a short search online, we found this one from De’Longhi and have been absolutely delighted with it. It’s our first range cooker and we find it works well plus the quality and price are great. We particularly like having a second oven as well as a separate plate warmer and now have plenty of options for cooking and warming up dishes.

It’s so intuitive to use and extremely easy to clean, even the stainless steel gas hob.
